CFBA Ensembles
9 Ensembles & 100s of Concerts
The City of Fairfax Band Association (CFBA) has recently added two new concert bands and one small ensemble. The Northern Virginia Youth Winds, a band for talented youth, held its first concert in November, 2011. In 2009, CFBA started a concert band for adults, the successful and popular Main Street Community Band. Brass members of the Main Street Band have formed an active quintet, The Main Street Brass Quintet, bringing the total number of performing groups to nine. Each ensemble has an active performance schedule (over 200 combined gigs in 2010) and each is available for booking to play at special events. In addition to concerts in Virginia and the metropolitan Washington, DC, area, CFBA ensembles have played in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Baltimore, MD; Bethany Beach, DE; and New Orleans, LA.
