2024-2025 SEASON CONCERTS
A Season Ticket covers all City of Fairfax Band and Main Street Band performances and includes a ticket to both of our very popular holiday concerts. All seats are general admission. If you need extra tickets to the holiday concerts, please order beginning November 1.
CITY OF FAIRFAX BAND
Date/Location: Saturday, October 26, 2024, 7:30 pm at Fairfax High School Auditorium
Program Title: A Divine Adventure
Conductor: Dereck Scott
Featuring: Chills and thrills await as we perform John Williams’ “Adventures on Earth” from E.T. and Robert W. Smith’s “The Divine Comedy!” Movements – “The Inferno,” “Purgatorio,” “The Ascension,” and “Paradiso.”

Program Title: Christmas in Fairfax
Conductor: Dereck Scott
Featuring: The Fairfax Choral Society and seasonal favorites such as: “Hanukkah Festival Overture,” “The Night Before Christmas,”“Patapan,” “Still, Still, Still,”“Ding Dong Merrily On High.” Tickets are required for this annual Standing-Room-Only favorite. Don’t be surprised when Santa makes an appearance!

Featuring: Bring the whole family for a celebration of some of the best music from children’s films such as “The Incredibles,” “The Lion King,”“Frozen,” and “How to Train Your Dragon.”

Program Title: Postcards
Conductor: Dereck Scott
Featuring: Young Artist Competition Winner as the Guest Soloist. The City Band takes a musical world tour, featuring the music of Valerie Coleman, Percy Grainger, Frank Ticheli, and Leonard Bernstein! Highlights include: “Havana Nights,” “Vesuvius,” “Out of Africa,” and “Candide.”
MAIN STREET COMMUNITY BAND
Date/Location: Saturday, October 12, 2024, 10:00 am at Old Town Square, Fairfax
Program Title: Concert on the Plaza
Conductor: Jeff Seffens
Featuring: As part of the Fairfax Fall Festival, the band plays fun seasonal music suitable for the entire family. With Halloween just around the corner, don’t be surprised if you hear some ghostly favorites too! Free concert and no ticket is required.

Program Title: Home for the Holidays

Featuring: The Band presents a jolly mix of seasonal and holiday favorites for the entire family. Tickets for this concert are free, but seats fill up fast. Be sure to reserve your seat early!

Featuring: Listen as we play pieces our conductor always wanted to program. This includes Robert Russell Bennett’s “Suite of Old American Dances,” arranged by James Curnow – one of his favorites.

Program Title: Luminaries
Conductor: Jeff Seffens
Featuring: As part of the Spotlight on the Arts Festival, the band will feature music from Leroy Anderson, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin. These luminaries have all had a lasting influence on the popular music of the twentieth century and beyond. The audience is invited to a reception immediately following the concert.
